Summary

Cameroon is a fragile and conflict-affected state with significant vulnerability to climate change. Growth remained modest amid a challenging external environment, a slow pace of reforms, and the composition of fiscal adjustment, while macroeconomic stability was maintained. The reduction in foreign development assistance threatens to further weaken the social safety net, exacerbating existing social vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, the Presidential election in October 2025 introduces political and economic uncertainty, compounding challenges in an already unfavorable external environment.
